Another storm barrels into snow-weary Boston as west faces record-breaking heat

A tale of two countries will play out this weekend in the United States: As the already-buried northeast, which has been hit by two major storms in the past two weeks, battles yet another winter storm and much colder than normal temperatures, much of the western United States will continue to see record-breaking warmth.

A multi-day snowstorm is expected to barrel into New England around Saturday night and could dump between 10 and 14 inches of snow on much of Massachusetts. The storm is set to last at least until Monday. After that, another arctic onslaught is forecast to hit the northeast late next week bringing record-low temperatures in southern New England.
