Microsoft isn't happy with Google for revealing a Windows security hole
Microsoft's security team isn't very pleased with Google for revealing a security hole in its computer systems before it fixed the issue
Google publicly revealed a bug in the Windows 8.1 login function that would allow attackers to gain control of the system. The reveal was part Google's Project Zero, an initiative that identifies security holes and calls on companies to publicly disclose and patch bugs within 90 days of discovering them. Google first notified Microsoft of the bug on Oct. 13, 2014
"This bug is subject to a 90 day disclosure deadline," reads Google's blog post about the Microsoft bug. "If 90 days elapse without a broadly available patch, then the bug report will automatically become visible to the public." Read more...
