Protesters stage die-in as they flood Manhattan's iconic Apple Store
Hundreds of protesters flooded the iconic midtown Apple Store and staged a die-in under its large glass cube Friday night in honor of Eric Garner, the 43-year-old black man killed by a white police officer in July
A Staten Island grand jury decision this week not to indict Daniel Palanteo, the officer who held Garner in a chokehold as he died on a Staten Island street, has sparked days of protests nationwide. Protesters in New York, Chicago and elsewhere shut down major thoroughfares—including the Brooklyn Bridge—and staged multiple die-ins Thursday evening.
