The most captivating performer at the Grammys on Sunday wasn't a celebrity entertainer, but a domestic abuse survivor with a powerful message
Brooke Axtell, a 34-year-old activist based in Austin, Texas, described her harrowing experience in an abusive relationship and urged survivors to seek help
"After a year of passionate romance with a handsome, charismatic man, I was stunned when he began to abuse me," she said. "When he threatened to kill me, I knew I had to escape. I revealed the truth to my mom, and she encouraged me to seek help at a local domestic violence shelter. This conversation saved my life." Read more...
