Gruesome Australian shark attack captured live on surf cam

A surfer has died after a shark mauled his legs at an Australian beach on Monday

Japanese national Tadashi Nakahara, 41, was sitting on his surfboard 10 metres off Shelly Beach, near Ballina on the New South Wales coast, when the four-metre shark attacked. Other surfers dragged him from the water and administered first aid, but Nakahara died at the scene.

Local surfer Allan Baldock, who was in the water at the time, said he saw the shark home in on Nakahara. “It went whack and he was thrown into the air ... it must have been a huge, huge shark,” he told The Guardian. Read more...
