Anna Kendrick, future Oscar host?

LOS ANGELES — Could we be witnessing the birth of a future Oscar host in Anna Kendrick?

OK, so it's a bit of a leap at this point, but when the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced Monday that Kendrick would be making a "special appearance" at the 87th Oscars, the wheels started turning.

Let's start with the big mystery: Producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron are being awfully coy about exactly what Kendrick will be doing, saying only this:
