Yik Yak fixed security flaw that exposes 'anonymous' users

    It seems Yik Yak, the popular anonymous messenging app, wasn't quite as anonymous as some people thought.


    The company didn't encrypt a "seemingly innocuous" aspect of the app, according to SilverSky Research Labs. That allowed hackers to easily take over other accounts — not only seeing users' previous posts, but creating new ones.



    Luckily, there's a fix. SilverSky notes that it told Yik Yak about the problem on Dec. 2, and the developers were quick to address the issue. All users have to do to apply the patch is update the app Read more...
